Medical Associates Plus' mission is to provide quality and affordable health care throughout Greater Augusta and surrounding areas.
To provide quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare throughout Greater Augusta and the surrounding areas.
To be a premier healthcare provider of choice known for reducing unmet healthcare needs.
Create an atmosphere of dignity and respect and treat all patients with a truly caring attitude.
In 1993, University Hospital, the Richmond County Health Department, and the
Richmond County Commission joined to form the Partnership for Community
Health. The goal was to improve indigent care in Richmond County. A community
needs study showed alarming disparities in the 30906 zip code. This led to the
creation of the Neighborhood Improvement Project, Inc., in 1998. The organization
targeted access to care, mental health, elder care, family support, and economic
development.
Originally known as Belle Terrace Health & Wellness Centers, the health center saw
its first patient in 1999 at Belle Terrace Presbyterian Church. By 2013, the health
center had grown and was renamed Medical Associates Plus. By 2016, Medical
Associates Plus had expanded to include three additional locations and a mobile
unit. Today, MAP serves over 50,000 patients per year at more than 20 locations across the region.
Comprised of experienced professionals in various fields of medicine and healthcare management, our Board of Directors work collaboratively to ensure we deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
